Senior Electrical Engineer, Data Centers (MV/LV Design)

My client is a long-established US data center owner with campuses across several states and a large build program underway. They’re growing their in-house electrical engineering team and need a Senior Electrical Engineer to own MV and LV design on new builds and expansions of existing sites.

This is an owner-side seat. You set the standards that the consultants follow, rather than working to someone else’s.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing medium and low voltage distribution for new campuses and upgrades to live facilities
• Owning the design intent and reviewing consultant drawings, calcs and specs
• Writing and improving the company’s electrical design standards and specifications
• Working through issues with mechanical, civil, structural and construction teams
• Dealing with utilities, AHJs, equipment vendors and contractors through delivery
• Evaluating new equipment and approaches for future projects
• Supporting the job from early planning through construction and commissioning, with occasional site travel

What you’ll bring

• BSEE or equivalent
• Solid hands-on design experience on data centers or other mission-critical facilities
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution, generators, UPS, grounding and protection
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL and ANSI
• Experience managing outside engineering consultants

Nice to have

• PE license
• Both greenfield and brownfield project experience
• Direct experience with utilities and AHJs
