Site Electrical Engineer / Site Electrical Construction Lead

MASFEN ROMANIA delivers engineering and construction projects in the energy sector. We are seeking a Site Electrical Engineer to lead our on-site electrical construction team for 110 kV substation and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Făget, Giulvăz, and Călan.

Role description

This is a full-time, site-based role. The Site Electrical Engineer will be the head of MASFEN ROMANIA’s electrical construction team on site, responsible for directing daily activities and controlling electrical subcontractor performance. The position focuses on installation, coordination, inspection, testing, and commissioning support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead MASFEN ROMANIA’s on-site electrical team and coordinate the daily work of electrical subcontractors.
• Oversee the installation of substation and BESS electrical equipment, cabling, earthing, control systems, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Check that installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, and applicable safety procedures.
• Coordinate electrical works with civil construction, equipment suppliers, testing teams, and the project schedule.
• Inspect completed work, identify defects or delays, and follow up on subcontractor corrective actions.
• Support testing and commissioning activities, including preparation of inspection records, test documentation, and punch lists.
• Report progress, site risks, resource needs, and subcontractor performance to the project manager.
• Support as-built documentation and handover to the client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Proven experience supervising electrical installation teams and subcontractors on construction sites.
• Experience with high-voltage substations, BESS facilities, or similar power infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
• Practical knowledge of electrical installation, power distribution, protection and control interfaces, earthing, and testing procedures.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and resolve installation issues with designers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Familiarity with Romanian electrical standards, safety requirements, and site documentation.
• Good command of English, including the ability to read technical documentation and communicate with international project teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Availability to work on site in Făget, Giulvăz, and Călan.
