Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee and manage electrical engineering works across construction projects in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor electrical works on-site, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and low-voltage systems.
• Review electrical design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, technical specifications, and method statements.
• Ensure all electrical installations are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable UAE regulations, and international standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, architectural, and other MEP teams to resolve technical issues and avoid clashes between building services.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality and progress of electrical installation works.
• Prepare and review RFIs, technical reports, inspection requests, and other engineering documentation.
• Monitor subcontractors' performance and ensure electrical works are completed according to approved project schedules.
• Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, site installation issues, and design coordination conflicts.
• Coordinate material approvals, technical evaluations, and procurement requirements with the relevant teams.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, health and safety requirements, and project quality standards.
• Coordinate testing, inspection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Coordinate with relevant UAE authorities, including DEWA and other applicable authorities, for electrical approvals and inspections.
• Supervise the installation and testing of electrical panels, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and other electrical equipment, where applicable.
• Review as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, test reports, and handover documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to electrical engineers, supervisors, and site teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the UAE construction industry, with a strong background in electrical engineering works.
• Proven experience in building construction projects, preferably residential towers, commercial buildings, hotels, or mixed-use developments.
• Strong technical knowledge of power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical systems.
• Experience reviewing electrical shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, RFIs, and material approvals.
• Good understanding of UAE electrical regulations, DEWA requirements, and relevant international standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP and Navisworks is an advantage.
• Experience in site inspections, quality control, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Strong technical coordination, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
