The Role

Reporting to the Regional Lead, this full-time Senior Electrical Engineer role in Hobart will see you take ownership of projects from initial requirements through to commissioning and handover.

We’re seeking an experienced engineer with a strong background in low voltage electrical design, automation or control systems. You’ll work closely with clients to define technical requirements, solve complex engineering challenges and deliver practical, high-quality solutions.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• A degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering, or a relevant diploma supported by substantial industry experience.
• A minimum of 6 years' experience in electrical engineering, preferably within an engineering consultancy, industrial or energy environment.
• Demonstrated experience in LV electrical design, including Motor Control Centres (MCCs), switchboards, schematics, cable sizing and electrical layouts.
• Experience in control system design, including PLC/SCADA systems, instrumentation, control schematics and industrial communication networks.
• Ability to develop and review technical drawings, specifications, cable schedules and engineering documentation.
• Experience using electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar industry tools.
• A sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards, electrical safety requirements and engineering design practices.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage engineering deliverables and project deadlines.
• Confidence working with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

• HV electrical design, protection systems and power system modelling.
• ETAP, SKM PowerTools, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, MATLAB/Simulink or PSCAD.
• Functional safety, hazardous area design or industrial automation.
• Site commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
• An electrical trade background.
• Chartered Engineer status or National Engineering Register (NER) registration.
