Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will carry out complex engineering assignments requiring the development of new research concepts or improved techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead/support efforts to support government and industry customers in designing reliability/quality into products and systems by identifying design steps to be taken and analysis/testing to be performed.
• Lead/support efforts to solve product reliability problems and identify corrective actions through various forms of analysis techniques such as electrical stress analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, Root Cause Analyses, and standard statistical analyses.
• Lead/support initiatives to collect/analyze/model equipment failure data for the DoD.
• Analyze reliability problems and conduct investigations to determine the required reliability approach for the situation, with consideration given to cost limitations for equipment uptime/downtime, repair/replacement costs and weight, size and availability of materials/equipment.
• Support new Quanterion initiatives in areas such as electronic component applications, physics-of-failure models, impacts of implementing “green” technologies and others.
• Make and communicate connections between facts and events that are not readily obvious.
• Work under tight deadlines while providing appropriate detail to successfully meet clients’ expectations.
• Identify Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) projects to bid in areas of expertise and participating in proposal development to win them.
• Communicate information and ideas in a concise manner to clients and build and maintain relationships.

Qualifications

• M.S. degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a related field.
• Must be a technical expert, or have technical proficiency, in the technologies being addressed in the organization, staying abreast of new developments and applications.
• Demonstrated utilization of reliability and electrical engineering principles to identify and mitigate risk.
• Demonstrated experience in designing reliability/quality into products in systems.
• Demonstrated experience in solving product reliability problems and identifying corrective actions through analysis.
• Certifications in technical fields pertinent to organizational needs is preferred.
• Security Requirement: This position requires the ability to gain and maintain federal security clearance thus meeting eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship required.
