Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose

Responsible for the reliability, availability, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical systems supporting CPF's manufacturing operations. The position covers electrical systems for industrial machinery, power distribution, electrical control panels, backup power systems, and related electrical infrastructure throughout the system lifecycle.

The role works closely with engineering teams, manufacturing sites, suppliers, and service partners to develop and implement Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), electrical reliability improvement, spare parts management, and maintenance strategies to maximize system uptime, reduce downtime and maintenance costs, and ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical System Maintenance & Reliability

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs for industrial electrical systems, power distribution systems, electrical control panels, and backup power systems.
• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems related to electrical systems, equipment, and control panels.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for electrical failures and unplanned downtime and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor electrical system performance, reliability, and availability to improve System Uptime, MTBF, and MTTR.
• Support electrical system installation, testing, commissioning, start-up, and modification projects.
• Provide technical support and engineering recommendations to plant engineering teams and electrical maintenance personnel.
• Ensure electrical maintenance activities comply with relevant safety requirements, standards, and engineering practices.

2. Electrical Engineering & System Improvement

• Provide engineering expertise for industrial electrical systems, power distribution, electrical control systems, Generator, UPS, and related equipment.
• Review electrical system designs, specifications, drawings, and technical documents for new projects and system modifications.
• Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, energy efficiency, operational performance, and maintainability.
• Participate in the development and implementation of electrical system prototypes, new technologies, and engineering solutions.
• Support the integration and improvement of electrical systems used in automated machinery and manufacturing processes.

3. Spare Parts & Maintenance Cost Management

• Develop and maintain Critical Spare Parts lists for electrical systems and equipment.
• Analyze spare parts requirements, criticality, lead time, and appropriate inventory levels throughout the system lifecycle.
• Prepare annual maintenance plans, spare parts requirements, and maintenance cost estimates.
• Monitor and control electrical maintenance costs to ensure cost effectiveness and alignment with business objectives.
• Work with suppliers and service providers to ensure the availability of critical electrical components and technical support.

4. Electrical Project & Commissioning

• Support and/or lead electrical engineering projects from concept, design, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, System Integrators, and relevant engineering teams during project execution.
• Review electrical drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), control diagrams, equipment specifications, and commissioning documentation.
• Verify electrical system performance and compliance with design requirements before handover to operations and maintenance teams.
• Provide technical recommendations for electrical system upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle management.

5. Technology Development & Continuous Improvement

• Research and evaluate new electrical technologies, equipment, and maintenance practices.
• Apply industry best practices and new technologies to improve electrical system reliability, safety, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Analyze maintenance data and operational feedback to identify recurring problems and improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical feedback to engineering and design teams for future electrical system development.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives across CPF manufacturing operations.

6. Knowledge Sharing & Partnership

• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to engineers, technicians, and electrical maintenance personnel.
• Develop and promote standard electrical maintenance practices and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Build and maintain relationships with electrical equipment suppliers, service providers, academic institutions, and relevant external organizations.
• Collaborate with CPF business units and affiliated companies to share best practices and improve electrical maintenance standards.
• Support the development of organizational standards, technical guidelines, and best practices for electrical system maintenance.

Qualification – Senior Electrical Engineer

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field will be an advantage.
• Professional engineering license (กว. – Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering) is highly preferred.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or other relevant electrical/reliability certifications will be an advantage.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Projects, Power Systems, or Industrial Electrical Systems.
• Hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, power distribution systems, electrical control panels, or electrical equipment.
• Experience in electrical project installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in a manufacturing plant, food processing, feed mill, farm, industrial facility, or power generation/distribution environment will be highly advantageous.
• Experience in a technical leadership, specialist, or engineering expert role will be an advantage.
• Experience working with electrical equipment suppliers, contractors, and engineering service providers is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering License (กว. – Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering).
• Experience with MV/LV Power Distribution Systems.
• Experience with Generator, UPS, Transformer, Switchgear, MCC, VFD, and Protection Systems.
• Experience with electrical systems in Food, Feed, Farm, Manufacturing, or Industrial Plants.
• Experience with Electrical Reliability / Asset Management.
• Experience with Energy Management or Electrical Energy Efficiency.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, Industrial Automation, or electrical control systems will be an advantage.
• Good command of English, particularly for reading technical manuals, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Willingness to travel to CPF manufacturing sites and provide on-site technical support when required.
