Senior Electrical Project Foreman

Commercial Projects Over $2 Million

Pay: $55+ per hour, based on demonstrated capability and experience
Location: Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex
Sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates

Tutor Electrical Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Project Foreman capable of leading the field execution of commercial electrical projects valued at $2 million or more.

We are not looking for someone who has simply carried the title of foreman. We are looking for a proven field leader who can plan the work, lead the people, control production, develop the crew, and protect the project outcome.

At Tutor, a Senior Project Foreman is entrusted with much more than completing electrical installations. This person is responsible for converting plans, specifications, budgets, and schedules into organized field production, and for recognizing problems early enough to do something about them.

The Mission

Maximize productivity. Develop the crew. Beat the budget.

Success means helping deliver the project:

  • On time
  • At or under budget
  • Without hurting anyone
  • With zero punch-list items
  • With zero callbacks

What You Will Own

Planning and Production

  • Develop and maintain short-term and look-ahead work plans.
  • Translate drawings, specifications, schedules, and labor budgets into clear daily and weekly crew assignments.
  • Confirm that labor, materials, tools, equipment, information, and work areas are ready before assigning work.
  • Track installed production and labor performance against the estimate.
  • Adjust manpower, methods, sequencing, or assignments when performance begins moving off plan.
  • Anticipate upcoming constraints instead of allowing the crew to discover them after production stops.

Project Coordination

  • Serve as Tutor’s primary field leader and representative on the project.
  • Coordinate electrical installations with the general contractor, other trades, inspectors, vendors, and Tutor’s project-management team.
  • Identify drawing conflicts, constructability concerns, missing information, and changed conditions early.
  • Communicate RFIs, potential changes, delays, and project risks clearly and promptly.
  • Protect Tutor’s work from avoidable disruption, rework, and undocumented scope growth.

Crew Leadership and Development

  • Set clear expectations for safety, quality, production, attendance, conduct, and workmanship.
  • Organize the crew so responsibility is distributed through capable lead personnel rather than concentrated in one person.
  • Delegate work effectively and hold people accountable for commitments.
  • Teach, coach, correct, and develop apprentices, electricians, leads, and emerging foremen.
  • Build a crew that becomes more capable as the project progresses.
  • Address performance or conduct problems directly, fairly, and promptly.

Safety and Quality

  • Establish and enforce safe work practices every day.
  • Conduct effective pre-task planning and recognize changing jobsite hazards.
  • Maintain workmanship that meets Tutor standards, project specifications, applicable codes, and inspection requirements.
  • Inspect work while it is being performed—not after deficiencies have been covered or repeated.
  • Protect the project from injuries, rework, punch-list work, and callbacks.

Ownership and Communication

  • Own the condition and trajectory of the work entrusted to you.
  • Maintain accurate daily reporting, timekeeping, production information, and documentation.
  • Communicate honestly when the project is behind, at risk, or missing what the crew needs.
  • Bring problems forward early, together with a recommended course of action.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and field leadership while maintaining clear responsibility for field execution.
  • Represent Tutor professionally with customers, contractors, inspectors, vendors, and the workforce.

What We Are Looking For

Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Successful leadership of commercial electrical projects valued at $2 million or more.
  • Experience leading substantial crews through multiple phases of construction.
  • Strong commercial electrical knowledge and craft credibility.
  • The ability to read and independently work from complete plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Experience planning labor, materials, equipment, installation sequence, and crew assignments.
  • Experience tracking labor hours, production, and budget performance.
  • The ability to coordinate with general contractors and other trades.
  • Sound judgment under schedule and production pressure.
  • A record of developing apprentices, electricians, leads, or other field leaders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Consistent personal standards of honesty, dependability, urgency, fairness, and accountability.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Texas Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Documented commercial electrical foreman experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of commercial electrical construction.
  • Ability to successfully complete Tutor’s normal employment screening requirements.

Applicants should be prepared to discuss specific projects they have personally led, including project value, crew size, responsibilities, labor performance, challenges encountered, and final results.

What Tutor Offers

  • Competitive pay of $55+ per hour, based on demonstrated capability.
  • Sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.
  • Traditional IRA match of up to 3%.
  • Paid time off earned beginning on the first day of employment, up to 40 hours per year, with up to 80 hours banked.
  • Vacation awarded based on length of service:
  • One week after one year
  • Two weeks after three years
  • Three weeks after five years
  • Four weeks after ten years
  • Company-supported training and continued professional development.
  • A defined field-leadership pathway with opportunities for increasing responsibility.
  • A company where leaders know your name, your work is visible, and demonstrated capability creates opportunity.

The Tutor Standard

Our people are expected to:

  • Own the Work
  • Put People First
  • Do the Right Thing
  • Stay Sharp
  • Work as One

A Senior Project Foreman at Tutor is not measured only by how much work they can personally install. The measure is whether they can organize people, information, materials, and production so the entire crew succeeds and the project finishes where it is supposed to finish.

If you can plan the work, lead the people, develop the crew, and protect the outcome of a major commercial electrical project, we would like to hear from you.
