What they need
Company Overview
Our client is a leading international mechanical and electrical contractor with an established track record delivering technically demanding building services packages across mainland Europe. The business is particularly recognised for its capability in the mission-critical space, where programme certainty, engineering quality and rigorous commissioning standards are non-negotiable.
Over successive project cycles they have built long-term relationships with a small number of major end clients and general contractors, which has translated into a consistent and well-secured European pipeline. Rather than chasing volume across every market, the business has concentrated on building genuine depth in the sectors where its technical expertise is a real differentiator.
Continued expansion of that pipeline has created the need for additional senior electrical delivery capability. This is a growth appointment tied to secured workload, not a reactive replacement hire, and the successful candidate will join a delivery team that is being deliberately strengthened ahead of the next phase of project activity.
Internally, the culture is engineering-led and delivery-focused. Senior project staff are given genuine authority over their packages, with directors who understand the technical detail and support rather than second-guess site decisions. For an experienced electrical professional, this means fewer layers between you and the decisions that actually affect delivery.
Working Environment & Projects
You will take delivery ownership of large-scale electrical packages on major data centre and mission-critical developments, based in Poland with the wider portfolio spanning multiple mainland European locations. Scope typically encompasses MV and LV distribution, switchgear, generation and UPS interfaces, containment, cabling installation, power distribution to critical loads and the associated small power, lighting and life safety systems.
These are fast-paced, high-value environments where the electrical package sits on the critical path and carries significant programme risk. You will manage substantial directly employed and subcontracted labour resources, coordinate closely with mechanical, controls and general contractor teams, and drive delivery against demanding milestone dates through to testing, commissioning and client handover.
The role carries genuine technical depth alongside its management responsibilities. You will be involved in design coordination and technical submittals, procurement and material scheduling, method statement and installation sequencing, quality assurance and the full commissioning process including integrated systems testing. Mission-critical delivery demands a level of documentation and verification rigour that is materially higher than standard commercial work.
The position operates on a rotational basis, with accommodation and travel fully covered by the business. Rotational working suits candidates who want concentrated, high-intensity project involvement balanced with meaningful blocks of time at home, and it removes the relocation burden that typically accompanies international project work.
Responsibilities
- Take full delivery ownership of large-scale electrical packages on data centre and mission-critical projects
- Manage programme, resourcing and installation sequencing to meet demanding critical-path milestone dates
- Oversee MV/LV distribution, containment, cabling, power distribution and associated critical systems installation
- Lead and support site-based electrical supervisors, engineers and directly employed and subcontracted labour
- Coordinate technical and programme interfaces with mechanical, controls, general contractor and client teams
- Manage procurement, material scheduling and long-lead item tracking in conjunction with the commercial team
- Oversee design coordination, technical submittals, RFIs and as-built documentation throughout the package
- Drive testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing through to successful client handover
- Ensure all works are delivered to required health, safety and quality standards, with full documentary compliance
What You Need
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within an electrical or M&E contracting environment
- Strong electrical contracting background, with a track record delivering large-scale, high-value electrical packages
- Technical competence across MV/LV distribution, containment, cabling, power distribution and associated systems
- Experience managing significant labour resources and subcontract packages on major projects
- Solid programme and commercial awareness, including procurement, variations and package cost control
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills across multidisciplinary project teams
- Willingness to work on a rotational basis from a European project location
- Data centre or mission-critical experience is highly advantageous; wider large-scale commercial, industrial or pharmaceutical electrical delivery will also be considered
- Electrical engineering degree, trade background or equivalent qualification preferred
What You'll Get in Return
A salary of €130,000 is on offer, alongside a rotational working pattern with accommodation and all travel between home and project location fully covered by the business. The package is structured so that the headline figure remains largely intact rather than being eroded by the living and travel costs that often accompany international assignments.
The longer-term return is technical. Mission-critical electrical delivery experience — particularly MV/LV distribution and integrated systems commissioning on live data centre programmes — is among the most sought-after and best-remunerated skill sets in European construction, and demand continues to outstrip the available pool of proven delivery professionals. This is a business with a secured pipeline and a clear progression route into senior delivery and project leadership positions as the European portfolio grows.
