The ideal candidate combines technical construction expertise with strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and oversight for electrical construction projects.
  • Develop project execution plans, establish goals, and communicate expectations to field and office teams.
  • Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project support staff.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and overall financial performance.
  • Oversee contract administration, including pricing, negotiation, and execution of change orders.
  • Track project progress through reporting systems, schedules, and performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, and trade partners.
  • Collaborate closely with field leadership to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Identify project risks and develop effective solutions to mitigate challenges.
  • Represent the company during client meetings, planning sessions, and project reviews.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and project forecasts.
  • Manage billing, cost control, procurement activities, and overall contract performance.
  • Support business development initiatives by fostering existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience managing electrical construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, project controls, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to lead multiple stakeholders while maintaining accountability for project outcomes.
  • Experience managing teams and developing future project leaders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated success driving schedule performance, cost management, and client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of modern construction methods, prefabrication strategies, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work effectively across office and field teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional engineering credentials are beneficial but not required.
  • 10+ years of project management experience within electrical construction or a related trade.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale projects and managing project teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, project delivery methods, and contract administration.
  • Experience with client-facing responsibilities and business development activities is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common construction management software platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-driven professional with a proactive approach to project execution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel to project sites and client locations, approximately 10-25%.

Work Environment

This role combines office-based responsibilities with regular project site involvement. Candidates should be comfortable working in active construction environments, participating in site walks, attending meetings, and coordinating with field personnel.
