Senior Electrical Technician

JOB TITLE: Senior Electronic Technician – Keltech Division

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Test Manager

BASIC FUNCTION

The position requires testing printed circuit board assemblies and/or product as a final unit along with refurbishing or reworking and repairing of damaged assemblies for the client. Please note this position is on the production floor; not in a test lab.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Troubleshoot electronic devices to board level by sectionalizing and localizing defects.
• Troubleshoot and perform test and field failure analyses on failed products.
• Ability to Install software on products and programmable parts.
• Prior experience or ability to program components using MpLabs and/or Quartus, a plus.
• Determine proper disposition of non-conforming product as directed.
• Must be able to work with the pressure of deadlines.
• Interpret schematics, circuit diagrams, engineering documents, and Bill of Materials.
• Assemble and disassemble products using basic hand tools.
• Provide training and/or instructions on related work procedures to coworkers
• Maintain a clean workstation throughout each shift
• Understand and follow quality-related standards per customer documentation and internal documentation
• Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at P1 Technologies
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in circuit testing/trouble shooting to component level.
• Working knowledge of how Transistors, resistors, diodes, integrated circuits, and capacitors operate in circuits. RF experience with hands on knowledge of radio waves, electromagnetic fields and wireless communication hardware.
• Experience establishing communication between devices using comports, wireless networks, and wired ethernet connections. Familiarity with terminal emulators to connect to hardware via serial ports and telnet.
• Possess a thorough understanding of test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, network and spectrum analyzers.
• Must be comfortable with basic troubleshooting/problem solving
• Understanding of basic math, Metric/English conversions
• Must demonstrate excellent organizational, time management and follow-up skills
• Must be able to communicate and work well with others; as well as independently
• Must be able to read, comprehend, and carry out very detailed instructions in English, both written and oral
• Must be detail-oriented: accurate, consistent, thorough, neat, able to recognize material damage/flaws
• Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance record and work overtime as directed
• Must have the following advanced skills: Thorough understanding of Electrostatic Discharge, proper board handling, and Electronic Theory; ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings; computers (e.g. Windows, Excel, etc.); metric conversions/linear measurement. A thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent; A.S. in Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent

EQUIPMENT USED

Computers, various hand-held tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, network and spectrum analyzers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Requires good hand/eye coordination, use of fine manipulation with hands and fingers, close/color vision, minimal fumes, moderate noise, minimal lifting, bending and stooping.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
