Senior Electrical Testing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Testing Engineer with 5–10 years of hands-on experience in LV/MV electrical testing and commissioning. The successful candidate will lead site testing activities, supervise technical teams, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and coordinate with clients and project stakeholders to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Key Technical Experience

1. Power Transformers

• Conduct insulation resistance (IR) and polarization index (PI) tests.
• Perform winding resistance, transformer turns ratio (TTR), and vector group tests.
• Carry out on-load tap changer (OLTC) checks and functional testing.
• Experience with sweep frequency response analysis (SFRA) is preferred.
• Coordinate transformer oil testing and dissolved gas analysis (DGA).

2. HV/MV Cables and Accessories

• Perform insulation resistance (IR), polarization index (PI), continuity, and sheath tests.
• Conduct VLF and Hi-Pot testing, as applicable.
• Test cable joints and terminations.

3. MV/LV Switchgear and Panels

• Perform insulation resistance and contact resistance tests.
• Conduct functional testing, interlock verification, and basic commissioning activities.

4. Protection and Control Systems

• Support protection relay testing using secondary injection test kits.
• Verify control wiring and perform interface checks, as applicable.

5. Standards, Documentation and Safety

• Strong understanding of relevant IEC/IEEE standards.
• Prepare accurate test reports and maintain testing documentation.
• Follow site safety procedures, including Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute on-site electrical testing and commissioning activities.
• Prepare and review clear, professional test reports and technical documentation.
• Supervise engineers and technicians, allocate resources, and manage testing schedules.
• Ensure quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with clients, EPC contractors, OEMs, and other stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
• Participate in client meetings and provide technical inputs for proposals and service development.
• Support business development activities to expand electrical testing and commissioning services.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of relevant hands-on experience in LV/MV electrical testing and commissioning.
• Valid QatarEnergy or KAHRAMAA approval is mandatory.
• Strong technical reporting, team leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of electrical testing standards and site safety requirements.
