What they need
SENIOR ELECTRONICS & EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Join a fast-growing MedTech company and help build the engineering capability behind life-saving medical technology
°MEQU is growing, and we are expanding our R&D team with three new engineering positions.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Electronics & Embedded Software Engineer who wants to take technical ownership of electronic hardware and embedded software while helping us strengthen our internal development capabilities.
You will support the continued development of our °M Warmer System – a portable blood and IV fluid warmer used in critical care settings worldwide – and work across the product lifecycle from requirements and design to verification, industrialization and products in the market.
This is one of three new engineering roles being added to our R&D team. The other positions are Senior Verification Engineer and Senior Systems & Usability Engineer. You can find information about these in the °MEQU website or on LinkedIn.
ABOUT °MEQU
At °MEQU, our mission is to empower healthcare professionals to fight hypothermia and save lives.
Our °M Warmer System heats blood and IV fluids to body temperature within seconds and is used by military forces, emergency services and hospitals internationally.
The product has been CE-marked since 2018 and received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2024. We are now scaling the company and expanding into new international markets.
Our Danish office is located at Symbion, Fruebjergvej 3, 2100 Østerbro, Copenhagen.
Joining °MEQU means becoming part of an experienced R&D team working close to the product and across the full medical-device development lifecycle.
THE ROLE
As our Senior Electronics & Embedded Software Engineer, you will establish and expand the °MEQU competences within your professional field:
A particularly important part of the role is to strengthen °MEQU's internal engineering capability. You will collaborate with external development partners and suppliers while helping transfer technical knowledge, ownership and selected development activities into the organization.
Based on this, you and your colleagues will develop electronic hardware and embedded software for our medical devices and help ensure that designs meet product, safety and regulatory requirements.
The role therefore combines hands-on engineering with technical coordination, documentation and long-term capability building.
You will work closely with colleagues across R&D, Quality and Regulatory Affairs and contribute to design decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop electronic hardware for medical devices.
- Develop and maintain embedded software/firmware.
- Define and maintain technical requirements, specifications and design documentation.
- Support hardware and software architecture and technical design decisions.
- Support compliance with applicable standards, including IEC 60601 and IEC 62304.
- Contribute to risk management and design control activities, including work related to ISO 14971 and ISO 13485.
- Support verification, design reviews and technical investigations.
- Support design transfer, industrialization and product changes.
- Collaborate with external development partners, manufacturers and component suppliers.
- Review and challenge external technical solutions and documentation.
- Transfer technical knowledge and selected development activities from outsourced partners to in-house development.
- Contribute to building robust internal development methods, documentation and engineering capabilities.
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced engineer who enjoys working close to both hardware and software and taking responsibility for the complete technical solution. You take pleasure in sharing your knowledge with the organization and building a center of excellence among your colleagues within your area of professional expertise.
You combine technical depth with a structured approach to documentation and regulated product development. You are comfortable working with external specialists and suppliers.
Medical-device experience is highly relevant. Experience from another technically demanding and regulated industry may also be interesting if you bring strong electronics and embedded software capabilities.
You are familiar with software validation as defined by FDA.
QUALIFICATIONS
We expect you to have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, embedded systems or a related technical discipline.
- Several years of relevant experience in electronic hardware and/or embedded software development.
- Practical experience taking electronic products from requirements and design through testing and industrialization.
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, external development partners and suppliers.
It will be a strong advantage if you have experience with:
· Medical-device development.
· IEC 60601 and electrical safety for medical devices.
· IEC 62304 and software lifecycle processes.
· ISO 14971 risk management and ISO 13485 quality systems.
· Design control and technical documentation in a regulated environment.
· Design transfer and industrialization.
· Managing or insourcing technical work previously performed by external development partners.
HOW YOU WORK
· You are a hands-on problem solver with a structured approach.
· You take technical ownership and follow issues through to resolution.
· You are comfortable moving between detailed engineering work and broader system considerations.
· You proactively collaborate and share knowledge across functions.
· You can work effectively with external specialists while maintaining internal technical ownership.
· You thrive in a scale-up environment where priorities evolve and professional adaptability matters.
WHAT WE OFFER
· A key technical role in a growing international MedTech company.
