Senior Electronics & Test Engineer / Test Development Engineer

About the role

Responsible for development, improvement, validation, and testing of electronic and electromechanical products. Strong focus on test engineering, product industrialization, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving. Owns development and maintenance of test methods, fixtures, equipment, and test software. Supports new product development, prototype builds, product validation, and design improvements. Works closely with customers, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and other engineering functions during NPI and product changes. Ensures products and test solutions are reliable, manufacturable, testable, and cost-efficient. Independently solves complex technical problems and leads assigned engineering activities. Provides technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain production test methods, procedures, fixtures, equipment, and test programs.
• Define test strategies and improve test coverage, repeatability, reliability, cycle time, and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot PCBAs, electronic assemblies, test systems, and production failures; perform structured root cause analysis.
• Develop and improve electronic/electromechanical products, including schematics, component selection, prototypes, and validation.
• Plan and perform functional, performance, reliability, and environmental testing and implement design improvements.
• Take an active technical role in NPI from prototype and pilot builds through production release.
• Apply DFM and DFT principles and support production readiness, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Lead technical investigations of customer returns and recurring issues and support 8D/CAPA corrective actions.
• Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, test specifications, reports, and engineering change records.
• Communicate with customers and cross-functional teams and coach junior engineers, technicians, and production personnel.

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electronics R&D, test engineering, product engineering, or electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, PCBAs, electronic components, and measurement techniques.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, LCR meters, and similar test equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and structured root cause analysis capability.
• Experience developing or maintaining production test systems, functional testers, and test fixtures.
• Experience with prototype builds, product validation, NPI, and electronics manufacturing processes.
• Good understanding of DFM/DFT and ability to read schematics, PCB drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Hands-on experience with LabVIEW for test system development, automation, data acquisition, or equipment control is highly preferred.
• Good technical documentation, analytical, project ownership, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Good written and spoken English; programming (Python/C/C++), CAD/EDA, and EMS experience are strong advantages.
