The Role

A technical, hands-on integration role where you will:

• Drive full embedded Linux board bring-up on custom ARM-based heterogeneous SoCs and FPGA platforms.
• Build and optimize custom Board Support Packages (BSPs), including U-Boot bootloaders, device trees, and kernel configurations.
• Architect low-latency, high-throughput data paths between FPGA fabric, custom ASICs, and processors using DMA, PCIe, and AXI interconnects.
• Develop kernel drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and user-space interfaces (UIO, VFIO, mmap) for memory-mapped peripherals.
• Debug physical prototype circuit boards hands-on using schematics, register specifications, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Create lightweight bare-metal or RTOS firmware for secondary microcontrollers across distributed sensor payloads.
• Collaborate closely with RF, DSP, FPGA, and electrical engineers to validate mission-ready hardware in lab and test-range environments.

The Essential Requirements

• US Citizenship with eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
• Demonstrable track record of embedded Linux board bring-up, BSP development, U-Boot, device tree generation, and kernel tuning.
• Proven experience interfacing embedded processors with FPGA fabric or custom SoCs over memory-mapped buses (PCIe, AXI, DMA).
• Strong, fluent low-level C/C++ programming capabilities alongside Python or Bash scripting.
• Practical ability to read electrical schematics and use bench test equipment to diagnose hardware/software interface failures.

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Direct experience with PetaLinux, Yocto Project, or custom embedded Linux distribution frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of RF sensors, Software Defined Radio (SDR), radar, or Counter-UAS system architectures.
• Experience developing zero-copy data pipelines, scatter-gather DMA, or high-bandwidth hardware acceleration interfaces.
