Senior Embedded Electrical Engineer – Spacecraft Power Systems (Paris)

No space experience needed.

€66,000–€80,000 gross, plus equity.

A NewSpace company in Paris is looking for a hands-on embedded engineer to own the brain of its satellite power system.

You'll define the embedded architecture, write the control code and design the electronics it runs on. Then you'll take it into the lab and make it work. Your design will fly.

Satellites need far more power than they used to. The company designs, builds and tests the power hardware that meets that need, in-house.

Some of the best people for this role will come from outside space: automotive, e-mobility, battery storage, solar inverters, robotics or consumer electronics. Your industry matters less than how you think. We're looking for someone who works from first principles and owns their scope end to end.

What you'll do

• Define and implement the embedded software architecture of the power system: structure, scheduling, interactions between power conversion, battery and other subsystems, and interfaces with the spacecraft.

• Implement digital control on DSP/MCU platforms: control loops, measurement, signal processing and MPPT algorithms.

• Develop system-level functions: BMS, battery charging strategies (CC/CV, limits over temperature and state of charge), telemetry and spacecraft communication.

• Design microcontroller-based electronics: MCU selection, schematics, peripherals and hardware/software integration.

• Build, bring up and validate prototypes in the lab.

What we're looking for

• An MSc or equivalent in electrical engineering or embedded systems.

• 5+ years hands-on in embedded control electronics.

• Embedded C or Rust for real-time control on DSP/MCU.

• Experience designing embedded architectures for systems with multiple interacting subsystems.

• Strong knowledge of MCU peripherals: ADCs, high-resolution PWM, timers, SPI, I2C, CAN, UART.

• A solid grounding in control theory (average modelling, loop compensation) and its digital implementation.

• Mixed-signal design: signal conditioning, sensing chains, protections.

• Autonomy in the lab with scopes, probes, debuggers and electronic loads.

• Professional English. French is a plus, not a requirement.

Nice to have

• Battery, MPPT or energy conversion experience.

• RTOS.

• A high-reliability industry background.

This role isn't for someone who writes code for hardware another person designed. It's for someone who owns both.
