About the Role

As an Energy Trader, you will play a key role in optimizing our participation in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) and Ancillary Services (AS) market. You will work closely with plant operations, system operators, and market operators to make strategic decisions that directly impact revenues and operations.

This role offers hands-on market exposure, continuous learning, and a high-impact career path in one of the most critical sectors in the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulate and submit AS and spot market offers aligned with WESM rules, operational data, and company strategy.

• Optimize company resources across Spot Energy and Ancillary Services on a daily basis.

• Analyze historical performance and recommend bidding and nomination strategies.

• Coordinate with internal teams and market stakeholders for efficient trading operations.

• Monitor market conditions, competitor behavior, grid status, outages, and pricing trends.

• Prepare regular market performance reports, revenue summaries, and improvement insights.

• Support compliance, settlement, billing, and documentation requirements.

• Develop analytical tools and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Perform trading operations, including shifting schedules.

What We’re Looking For:

Skills

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.

• Good communication and comprehension abilities.

• Computer literate, with foundational knowledge of electricity markets and power system operations (advantage but not required for fresh grads).

Experience

• Advantage: experience in energy trading, BESS, solar, or related power market functions.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in WESM, plant operations, system operations, or regulatory affairs.

Education

• Degree in Engineering.

• Graduate studies are a plus but not required.

• Licensed Engineer.
