Senior Engineer – Facility Operations & Management (Mechanical/Electrical)

About the role

Responsible for leading, supervising, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and management of mechanical and electrical (M&E) facility systems in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily operations of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, generators, UPS, fire protection systems, pumps, and other related systems.
• Ensure continuity and reliability of critical power and utility supplies.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Plan and supervise Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and Predictive Maintenance activities.
• Ensure critical equipment and systems remain in optimal operating condition.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and implement corrective measures.
• Supervise M&E contractors and ensure work is completed according to specifications, SLA, schedule, safety, and quality requirements.
• Monitor vendor performance and manage outsourced maintenance activities.
• Ensure facility operations comply with relevant requirements from DOSH/JKKP, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, BOMBA, Occupational Safety and Health requirements, and applicable technical standards.
• Monitor electricity and utility consumption and identify energy-saving initiatives to improve facility efficiency and reduce operating costs.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, property management, construction or related civil engineering works.
• Experience in building maintenance operations is preferred.
• Good knowledge of civil/building defects, repair methods and construction materials.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in contractor supervision and maintenance coordination.
• Good communication, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple maintenance activities.
• Willing to attend emergency breakdowns or after-hours work when required.
