Senior Engineer Instrumentation

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the control solution is reliable and fit for purpose to meet the metallurgical and safety requirements of the operation. The role requires a high level of technical competency in instrumentation, networks and control systems and will require that the Senior Engineer C&I maintains their knowledge of control system developments.

Qualification

• Minimum National Diploma Electrical, Electronic or Instrument Engineering (NQF Level 6)
• BSc/BEng in Electrical, Electronic, Computer or Instrument Engineering is desirable

Certificate

• Registered as a Profession Engineer with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) or registered as a Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA
• GCC Factories and works is desirable
• Valid driver’s license

Experience

• 10 years' work experience in control and instrumentation
• 5 years relevant management experience
• 5 years’ experience with fieldbus technologies (e.g. Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, …)

Technical Knowledge

• Advanced computer literacy
• Ethernet networking
• Fluent English literacy
• Knowledge of applicable laws, standards and specifications.

Pre-requisite for the role

• Medical certificate of fitness
