Senior Engineer - Lean Manufacturing

To drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the Defence & Industries manufacturing operations, focusing on productivity improvement, waste elimination, process optimization, cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficient utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, VSM, VSM, Poka-Yoke, SMED, TPM, Standard Work and Visual Management.
• Identify and eliminate Muda, Mura and Muri across manufacturing processes.
• Conduct Value Stream Mapping and identify opportunities for cycle-time, lead-time and WIP reduction.
• Analyze production processes, line balancing, manpower utilization, machine capacity and bottlenecks.
• Drive Kaizen / Continuous Improvement projects with measurable productivity and cost-saving benefits.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Work Instructions and process standards.
• Improve OEE, cycle time, throughput, first-pass yield and overall equipment utilization.
• Conduct Time & Motion Studies and optimize manpower and workstation layouts.
• Support layout optimization, line balancing and production flow improvement.
• Implement visual management, daily management systems and performance dashboards.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, SCM and NPD teams to resolve process-related issues.
• Conduct root-cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, PDCA and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Support CAPA and corrective/preventive improvement initiatives.
• Establish and monitor Lean Manufacturing KPIs and prepare periodic improvement reports.
• Train and coach shop-floor personnel on Lean tools, 5S, Kaizen and problem-solving methodologies.
• Ensure Lean initiatives support quality, traceability, process discipline and compliance requirements relevant to Defence and Industrial manufacturing.
