Senior Engineer, Math Libraries - Consumer and Embedded Platforms

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Engineer, Math Libraries - Consumer and Embedded Platforms to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will focus on high-performance numerical software for consumer and embedded platforms, with an emphasis on platform readiness, validation, and defect resolution across new environments.

You will partner closely with CI/CD, testing, and engineering teams to establish performance targets, isolate platform-specific issues, and ensure functional correctness.

The position combines deep technical execution in C++ and Python with applied mathematics expertise to help deliver reliable, optimized libraries for science, engineering, and deep learning use cases.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $152,000 – $287,500 annually

Responsibilities

• Ensure platform readiness for math libraries on new platforms
• Perform defect triage and isolate platform-specific issues
• Identify performance targets and establish testing for new platforms
• Collaborate with CI/CD and testing teams to support validation pipelines
• Fix bugs to ensure functional correctness of libraries

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Computational Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in high-performance numerical software development
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for HPC software optimization and maintenance
• Strong grasp of numerical methods in science, engineering, and deep learning
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and project management tools like JIRA
