Senior Engineer (Motor)

Role & Responsibility:

Leads the technical resolution of 8D issues during the Engineering

Build (EB) phase. Coordinates cross-functional design reviews for wire routing and

insulation strategies. Takes full technical ownership of advanced troubleshooting, 8D

closures, and mechanical/electrical risk mitigation profiles.

● Core Technical & Problem-Solving Skills:

○ Demonstrates deep expertise in complex motor teardown analysis, wear auditing,

and failure cause isolation.

○ Integrates intermediate electromagnetic, winding efficiency, and material modeling

skills to resolve structural design friction.

○ Maintains basic technical awareness of Multiphysics Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

and motor acoustic mitigation vectors to facilitate design reviews.

● Functional & Process Skills:

○ Governs formal 8D triage loops, defines immediate containments, and tracks metrics

via Lean Six Sigma Green Belt statistical tools and HQMS workflows.

○ Leads core technical design alignment loops between local mechanical, firmware,

and quality personnel to clear project roadblocks.

○ Translates complex New Product Development (NPD) deliverables and field data into

comprehensive risk mitigation profiles.

● Role Expectations Integration:

○ Expertise: Deep functional expertise; isolates and resolves systemic, cross-functional

failure modes under tight launch windows.

○ Collaboration: Successfully resolves conflicts and technical discrepancies when

different opinions exist across multi-site centers.

○ Leadership: Independently identify, initiate, and drive technical improvement

opportunities or design updates with component vendors.

○ Performance: Takes full technical ownership of advanced troubleshooting, 8D

closures, and risk mitigation profiles.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

University Degree in Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial,

Production or other related Engineering discipline or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum 2 years relevant experiences in project follow up in the engineering

industry. Working in power tools field is an advantage.

Knowledge

• Experience in motor design & manufacturing process, BLDC is preferred.

• Good computer experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, email

communication, CAD.

• Familiar with application for safety approval such as UL, CSA, CE, BS,
