Senior Engineer Observability Platform Engineering

Role & responsibilities

Location: Bangalore/Hyderabad

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with other Observability Engineers to design and implement and maintain scalable, reliable, performant, and efficient observability systems.
• Help the team to continuously improve our operating processes.
• Nurture engineer growth through mentorship
• Promote observability best-practices to ensure platform resiliency, performance and cost-optimization.
• Design and implement observability solutions based on the goals and requirements set forth by leadership, SLI and SLO.

Required Experience

• At least 6 years of professional experience in systems engineering
• At least 4 years of experience programming in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or Python
• At least 4 years of experience delivering application performance monitoring visualizations with New Relic.
• At least 4 years of experience designing and building application performance monitoring solutions.
• At least 4 years of experience instrumenting application for telemetry data.
• At least 4 years of experience delivering cloud native software.
• Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience

Additional Skills

• Deep domain expertise delivering cloud native solutions.
• Experience in –
• Observability best practices
• Application Performance Monitoring
• Microservice Architectures
• Observability as Code
• Deep understanding of SRE concepts, such as Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives
• DevOps
• Some experience in –
• Application Testing
• SecOps
• AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
• AWS Management, Security, Scalability, Reliability, Cost Optimization

Education and Certifications

• AWS Certified DevOps - Professional
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
• Multiple Observability Platforms
• Hands on experience with Opentelemetry.
• JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js and React experience.
