Job Summary As Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the research, characterization, and product development of power supply solutions for automotive applications.

Specific Responsibilities

• Perform research, development, and design of power supplies for automotive applications using the company’s products.
• Develop techniques and methods to optimize power supplies using the company’s products and contribute to improving the PI Expert Software Suite.
• Assist in new product development and explore new applications for PI’s IC products.
• Design, implement, test and characterize automotive switching power supply units (PSU) using the company's products for documentation, training materials or customer requirements
• Evaluate, document, and optimize switching power supplies built with the company’s products.
• Provide design support and technical advice to the company's customers
• Develop technical application materials for publication and presentation at technical conferences, industry seminars, trade magazines, and data books
• Other duties related to the role as assigned

Skills Required

• Excellent understanding of Power Electronics or general electronics engineering fundamentals
• Ability to independently solve complex technical issues and guide design decisions
• Has ability to lead technical discussions, interface with customers, and mentor junior engineers
• Good written and oral communication skills with experience in technical report writing
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Capable of managing priorities, risks, schedules, and cross-functional activities with minimal supervision

Background desired

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related fields

• Five (5) years of experience as a Power Supply Design Engineer or design experience in any of the following areas:

• power converters/conversion/management

• switch-mode power supply units (PSU)

• inverters

• power electronics design equipment

• analog electronics design

• control loop design

• power magnetics design (transformer, chokes or inductors)

• Familiarity with automotive development processes, qualification requirements, and industry standards (e.g., AEC-Q100, ISO 26262, OEM requirements)

• Proven experience in driving products from concept, design, validation, qualification, and production release

• Customer-facing experience
