Senior Estimation Engineer - Mechanical

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or any equivalent studies/experience combination
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating for Heavy Civil projects.
• Previous experience in a Managerial role of an estimating department
• Job site experience is an asset
• Demonstrated intermediate-to-advanced understanding of Estimating core processes requiring minimal direction and supervision.
• Advanced knowledge of EPC estimating methods, processes, and procedures. Understands estimate types, classifications, and components. Specifically understands detail level estimates and design packages. Experience with Lump Sum Design & Build and/or OOM estimates.
• Significant knowledge and experience in quantity take-offs, statistical analysis, cost & price analysis and life cycle cost analysis.
• Skilled in understanding technical discipline processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial reports.
• Understanding of craft productivity, current market pricing in related areas and knowledge of construction practices in local work region.
• Advanced knowledge of construction methods and techniques in area of specialization and a general understanding of other disciplines. Familiar with engineering and construction codes and standards.
• Thorough understanding of cost indexing and escalation projection sources.
• Understands and contributes to risk and contingency assessments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Expert in estimating applications used for discipline estimates and knowledge of commercial estimating systems (e.g Candy).
