Senior Estimator

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager – WA/SA, the Senior Estimator manages complex tenders from qualification through pricing, submission and handover. You'll work with business development and sales, commercial and contracts, procurement, logistics, quality assurance, project delivery and international colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple tenders, coordinate inputs and keep reviews and submissions on schedule
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering quantity take-offs, materials, fabrication, labour, freight, erection, preliminaries, programme and subcontractors
• Assess constructability, scope gaps, cost sensitivities and delivery risks, and document assumptions, exclusions and qualifications
• Contribute to bid strategy, value engineering and procurement planning
• Prepare structured handovers for successful tenders
• Estimate structural steel and mechanical piping packages across materials, fabrication, freight, installation and delivery risks
• Work across WA and SA with business development, clients, delivery teams and international estimating colleagues

About you

• Proven estimating experience in structural steel and mechanical piping packages, ideally within mining, resources, oil and gas or related industrial construction
• Confident interpreting structural drawings and specifications, developing cost plans, assessing commercial and delivery risk, and managing several complex tenders at once
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, procurement, freight, logistics, erection and construction methodologies
• Understanding of the WA market
• Clear communication, attention to detail and a collaborative, commercially focused approach
• A trade or tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying, construction management or a related discipline is desirable
• At least seven years of relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a formal qualification
