City Light & Power, Inc. (CLP) is looking for a seasoned Senior Electrical Estimator to help power the future of critical energy infrastructure.

This role will play a critical role in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for EPC microgrid, electrical distribution, and high-voltage infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for interpreting technical drawings, performing detailed take-offs, evaluating subcontractor and vendor proposals, and collaborating with engineering and project teams to ensure bid completeness and constructability. The ideal candidate brings deep electrical estimating experience, a strong understanding of MV/HV systems and civil scopes, and the ability to drive pricing strategies that support successful project delivery.

At CLP and our sister company, CLP Engineering, you’ll join a team recognized by The Denver Post as a 2026 Top Workplace—a testament to our culture of collaboration, innovation, and long‑term employee growth.

Joining CLP means contributing to projects with real‑world impact, working alongside industry experts, and being part of a company that values technical excellence, innovation, and long‑term career growth.

What you'll do:

  • Evaluate RFP requirements and lead preparation and submission of proposal documents.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor bids.
  • Prepare subcontractor bid packages and lead solicitation and evaluation of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Participate in pre‑bid meetings and site walk‑downs to assess constructability and clarify scope.
  • Maintain an electronic database of material pricing, unit costs, labor benchmarks, and vendor quotes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement, and vendors to ensure clear scope and design intent.
  • Identify value‑engineering opportunities and recommend cost‑effective alternatives.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor proposals for compliance and accuracy.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and support project handoff after award.
  • Lead pre‑proposal risk analysis and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare pre‑proposal schedules and write final proposal documents.
  • Perform other estimating and work duties as needed
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of ten (10+) years of electrical estimating or construction project management experience; power generation, BESS, substation, T&D, or microgrid experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting EPC, renewable integration (solar/BESS), or Army Corps/government/utility‑scale infrastructure construction projects.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required; ability to manage and maintain complex cost databases. Knowledge of Procore and Bluebeam software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, one‑line diagrams, civil plans, specifications, and bid documents with a high degree of technical accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
  • Experience with estimating software is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to resolve technical issues, prepare clear reports, and engage vendors and subcontractors effectively.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

  • You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel is required.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Salary: $100,000 - $120,000/year based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
    • We reserve the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range based on factors unrelated to sex.
