Description

We are looking for a Senior Executive (Costing & Drafting) to support our tendering, quantity surveying, M&E costing, drafting and project commercial activities.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly detailed, organised, systematic and commercially aware, with the ability and ambition to grow together with the company.

You will work closely with the Director and project team and are expected to independently handle tender review, quantity take-off, costing, quotations, tender submissions, payment claims, variation orders, subcontractor claims and M&E drafting.

Beyond carrying out day-to-day responsibilities, we are looking for someone who can progressively take greater ownership, develop stronger commercial and technical capability, improve internal processes and eventually take on a more senior role as the company continues to expand.

The right candidate should be proactive, dependable and capable of growing from an individual contributor into someone who can independently manage responsibilities, support decision-making and contribute to the long-term development of the company.

Role and Responsibilities

• Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, scope of works and tender requirements.
• Carry out detailed M&E quantity take-off.
• Prepare tender costing, cost breakdowns, BOQs, quotations and price schedules.
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Check quantities, unit rates, labour, material, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Identify missing scope, discrepancies, duplicated items and commercial risks.
• Prepare tender clarifications, qualifications and exclusions.
• Attend tender interviews, clarification meetings and commercial discussions when required.
• Assist management with tender negotiation and value engineering.
• Prepare project budgets and cost breakdowns after award.
• Prepare and submit monthly progress payment claims.
• Prepare and maintain Variation Order claims and registers.
• Measure and price additional or variation works.
• Follow up on payment certification and commercial matters.
• Review and assess subcontractor progress claims.
• Prepare subcontractor payment certification for management approval.
• Check subcontractor variation claims and final accounts.
• Track project costs against approved budgets.
• Highlight cost overruns, unbudgeted works and commercial risks early.
• Prepare M&E drawings using AutoCAD.
• Produce tender, shop, coordination and as-built drawings where required.
• Review architectural, structural and M&E drawings for coordination.
• Assist with material quantity schedules and procurement checks.
• Maintain proper records for tenders, claims, variations, subcontractors and project costing.
• Support the Director and project team on costing, QS, drafting and commercial matters.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in M&E contracting, building services or construction preferred.
• Experience in M&E tendering, costing and quantity take-off.
• Experience in payment claims, variation orders and subcontractor claims will be an advantage.
• Able to read and understand M&E drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Mandatory Knowledge of ACMV, and Electrical.
• Knowledge of Fire Protection, Plumbing & Sanitary, BMS or ELV systems will be an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to communicate with consultants, main contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.

About the Role

This is not a pure drafting role and not a pure administrative QS role.
