Senior Executive - Logistics

Job Title: Senior Executive Logistics
Location: Khopoli
Reports to: Asst. Manager/ Manager Logistics

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Operations & Dispatch

• Coordinate day-to-day logistics and dispatch operations at the Khopoli site.
• Coordinate with transporters for timely vehicle placement as per dispatch plan.
• Monitor loading, vehicle reporting, dispatch and documentation activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Track daily dispatch plan vs. actual dispatch and highlight gaps/escalations.
• Ensure adherence to defined loading, dispatch, safety and compliance procedures.
• Coordinate with warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure optimum vehicle turnaround time.

Transporter Coordination:

• Coordinate with transporters for vehicle placement, availability and dispatch requirements.
• Follow up on pending vehicle placements and ensure adherence to agreed timelines.
• Maintain regular communication with transporters regarding operational issues and service gaps.
• Support transporter performance reviews by providing relevant operational data and analysis.
• Escalate recurring issues related to vehicle placement, delays, documentation and service performance.
• Performance & Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain daily/weekly logistics MIS and operational reports.
• Track key logistics KPIs such as:
• OTIF / On-time Dispatch
• Plan vs. Dispatch
• Vehicle Placement Adherence
• Vehicle Turnaround Time
• Cost per MT / Freight Cost
• Transit Delays
• Transit Damage
• Analyze operational data and highlight deviations, trends and areas requiring attention.
• Support preparation of management dashboards and presentations.
• Maintain accurate logistics databases and ensure timely reporting

Desirable (not mandatory):

• Exposure to planning and inventory optimization concepts.
• Understanding of Planning/ Forecasting

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

• Graduate B.Com / B.Sc. / BBA or equivalent.
• Certification/Diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Good working knowledge of MS Excel Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, basic data analysis and reporting.
• Strong capability in preparing and maintaining MIS and operational dashboards.
• Good working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
• Exposure to Power BI / other reporting tools will be an advantage.
• Experience with SAP/ERP systems for logistics/dispatch transactions will be preferred.

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in Logistics / Transportation / Dispatch operations.
• Experience with a transportation company, manufacturing plant, FMCG, chemicals or other high-volume industry will be preferred.
• Hands-on experience in vehicle placement, dispatch coordination and transporter management.
