SENIOR EXECUTIVE (SPECIAL PROJECT)

Job Descriptions

1. Strategic Planning & Departmental Management

• Develop and coordinate the Strategic Development Department's annual work plan in line with the organization's strategic direction and management directives.
• Monitor and coordinate departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare periodic performance reports for management.
• Develop, review and ensure compliance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental processes.
• Monitor the performance and KPI achievement of Special Projects staff and provide relevant reports to management.
• Assist in preparing departmental manpower and operating budgets and monitor expenditure against approved allocations.
• Support the implementation of departmental initiatives and ensure tasks and deliverables are completed within the stipulated timelines.

2. Business Development & Opportunity Exploration

• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities aligned with the organization's strategic direction and core business areas.

• Conduct market, industry and economic analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities and potential areas for business expansion.

• Develop and maintain business networks with:

  • Government departments and agencies;
  • Private and corporate sector organizations; and
  • International organizations and strategic partners.

• Conduct preliminary assessments of potential business opportunities based on market potential, technological considerations, feasibility and organizational capabilities.

• Identify potential strategic partnerships, collaborations and investment opportunities that can contribute to organizational growth.

3. Strategic Project Development

• Coordinate the development and evaluation of strategic and special projects from the initial concept stage through to proposal and management consideration.
• Prepare feasibility studies, business cases, project papers and strategic recommendations for management and Board consideration.
• Analyze commercial, operational, financial and strategic considerations relating to proposed projects.
• Work closely with internal departments, external consultants, business partners and relevant agencies to develop viable project proposals.
• Monitor the progress of strategic projects and prepare reports for submission to senior management.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Partnerships

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, corporate organisations, business partners and other relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate and participate in engagement sessions, business meetings, presentations and negotiations relating to proposed projects and business opportunities.
• Present business proposals, project concepts and strategic recommendations to management, business partners and relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussions with potential partners to identify opportunities for strategic collaboration, joint ventures or other forms of business cooperation.
• Provide strategic input and recommendations to support sound business and investment decisions.

5. Reporting & Management Support

• Prepare periodic reports, analysis and recommendations relating to business development and strategic projects.
• Prepare presentation materials and management papers for senior management and Board of Directors' consideration.
• Provide timely updates on the status, opportunities, risks and progress of strategic initiatives.
• Undertake other strategic projects and assignments as directed by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Investment, Strategy, or other relevant disciplines. A strong academic and professional background in Finance or Economics will be highly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in strategic planning, business development, corporate strategy, management consulting, investment, financial analysis, project development, or a related field.
• Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to conduct market, economic and business analysis and translate findings into actionable business insights and recommendations.
• Good understanding of business development, market trends, feasibility assessment, investment considerations and strategic decision-making.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex business, financial and strategic matters to diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate stakeholders and deliver quality outputs within tight deadlines.
• Experience in preparing business proposals, feasibility studies, investment papers, management papers, business cases or strategic recommendations will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of data analytics and visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau will be an added advantage.
