Role Description The Senior FDE, Full Stack App Development role is a full-time, remote position responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable web applications that power Commotion’s AI-native platform. This role involves developing robust front-end interfaces and back-end services, integrating with AI and data systems, and ensuring performance, reliability, and security across the stack. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with product managers and designers to refine requirements, implementing new features, improving existing functionality, writing clean and testable code, and participating in code reviews. The Senior FDE also helps define technical architecture, mentors other engineers, and contributes to continuous improvement of development practices and tooling.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, Vue, or similar frameworks) and building responsive, accessible user interfaces.
• Strong back-end development skills with server-side languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or similar) and RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency with databases and data storage (e.g., SQL/NoSQL, schema design, query optimization) and integration with distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and DevOps practices (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure; containers, CI/CD, monitoring, and logging).
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including testing strategies, code quality, performance optimization, and secure development practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team, communicate clearly, and provide technical leadership and mentorship.
• Background in building products that integrate AI, data, or real-time communication systems is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
