Senior Field Application Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior FAE, reporting to Senior Regional FAE Director APAC. This role primarily focuses on technology migration, customer support and cross-regional technical leadership. As technology continues to evolve rapidly, the successful candidate will provide exceptional technical expertise to support customer technology transitions, retain existing customers, secure new business opportunities, and ensure end-to-end project success and customer satisfaction.

Objectives & Responsibilities

• Deliver technical and product presentations and provide pre-sales support to customers, distributors, and sales teams to support design-win activities and business growth.
• Troubleshoot customer issues through log analysis, tracing, onsite testing, and root-cause investigation, while documenting failure reports and proposing solutions or workarounds and escalate internal defects in a structured manner.
• Coordinate defect escalation and resolution processes by working with internal teams to log defect reports, identify solutions, and ensure timely issue closure and customer satisfaction.
• Assist customers in developing new wireless applications by providing technical guidance, test scripts, application notes, design guidelines, and development support.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers’ technical and management teams, delivering exceptional customer support as well as product and technical training to customers and distributors.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, customer partners, and indirect sales channels to achieve design-win targets, support revenue growth, and proactively monitor direct and distributor business opportunities.
• Support customers’ R&D teams through onsite troubleshooting, development assistance, roadmap discussions, workshops, training sessions, and onsite project reviews upon customer request (mainly to U.S).
• Manage customer requirements, coordinate technical support activities, recommend appropriate support packages for key customers, and provide technical support throughout RFI/RFQ processes.
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field, with 10yrs+ of experience in the wireless industry, semiconductor sector, or embedded system design and development.
• Demonstrated expertise in wireless communication technologies (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G), 3GPP standards (e.g. Rel. x), and IoT ecosystems, with a solid understanding of key IoT market verticals such as Security, Healthcare, Energy, and POS.
• Familiarity with Android, Embedded Linux, embedded software concepts, and programming languages (C/C++ and Python).
• Good knowledge of HW/SW development processes and understanding of IoT security and related services, regulatory compliance and Mobile Network Operator (MNO) approval processes.
• Strong experience in customer-facing technical roles, including technical support, pre-sales activities, customer project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with good English (in written and spoken) and the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting factory production is a plus.
• Pre-sales or strong project management skills including project planning, scheduling, risk/cost control, as well as crisis management and customer escalation handling.
• With experience coordinating multi-sites are highly preferred.
