Senior Field Engineering Tech.

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Field Engineer / Oversight Lead for a leading utility client in the Tampa, Florida area. This individual will serve as a senior advisor and onsite leader responsible for overseeing a major transmission and utility infrastructure program. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience across overhead transmission, substations, and underground utility systems while providing high-level oversight and strategic direction. This role will focus on managing daily project operations, including procurement activities, schedule performance, budget tracking, risk management, and overall project execution. The successful candidate will work directly with client leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget while serving as a trusted technical and operational resource throughout the life of the program.

Must-Haves:

• 20+ years of utility engineering and project experience
• Strong project management and field engineering background
• Experience managing large-scale utility infrastructure projects
• Overhead transmission, substation, and underground utility projects
• Strong schedule management and project controls expertise
• Strong budget, forecasting, and cost management
• Experience providing executive-level project oversight and direction
• Ability to work directly with client stakeholders and leadership teams

• Utility owner/operator experience
• Experience on transmission line construction programs
• Procurement and contract management experience
• Experience with enterprise project controls systems
• Florida utility project experience

Day-to-Day:

• Provide overall management oversight for a major utility infrastructure program
• Manage day-to-day project operations related to procurement, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
• Provide technical guidance across overhead, substation, and underground workstreams
• Serve as a primary client-facing leader and advisor
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, and stakeholder teams for Onsight operations
• Support executive reporting and project performance reviews
• Drive project execution and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle
