About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a global provider of advanced semiconductor metrology solutions, to identify a Senior Field Service Engineer supporting a customer in Austin, Texas.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and working directly with customers in a high-performance environment.

The successful candidate will serve as a critical link between the customers, technical support, applications engineering, and product development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and support advanced semiconductor metrology equipment at customer facilities.
• Perform equipment upgrades, modifications, and new system installations.
• Diagnose technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate escalations with technical support and engineering teams.
• Provide responsive customer support under established warranty and service agreements.
• Train customer engineers and equipment operators on system operation and best practices.
• Prepare accurate service reports, technical documentation, and customer updates.
• Manage assigned spare-parts inventory and ensure equipment readiness.
• Collaborate with applications engineering, sales, and R&D teams during customer evaluations and product improvements.
• Follow semiconductor fab safety protocols, customer policies, and confidentiality requirements.
• Support customer operations outside standard working hours when required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience servicing semiconductor manufacturing equipment in a fab or customer-site environment.
• Strong electromechanical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with semiconductor equipment installation, maintenance, upgrades, and field service procedures.
• Ability to work independently and resolve technical challenges with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer communication, escalation management, and technical reporting capabilities.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, applications, and technical support teams.
• Effective time management and ownership of assigned equipment and customer relationships.

Highly Desirable Experience

• Semiconductor metrology, inspection, optical measurement, or process-control equipment.
• Experience supporting equipment from leading semiconductor capital equipment manufacturers.
• Experience working in high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
• Familiarity with equipment qualification, preventive maintenance, and root-cause investigations.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
