Senior Field Support Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Field Support Engineer (FSE) leads the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of semiconductor test equipment at customer sites, acting as the primary technical lead on-site.

The Senior FSE mentors team members, drives root-cause resolution on complex equipment issues, and serves as the key escalation point between customers and internal engineering teams during critical equipment events and new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Oversee and continuously improve the full PM program
• Lead major preventive maintenance activities and sustaining maintenance initiatives
• Review PM documentation and checklists for accuracy and efficiency

Troubleshooting and Repair

• Serve as the escalation point for complex or unresolved equipment alarms and failures
• Resolve tool-down situations with minimal production impact, prioritizing critical customer needs
• Oversee component replacement, TIM replacement, and RMA processing for complex cases

Equipment Installation and Lifecycle Support

• Lead new equipment installation, tool conversions, and upgrades end-to-end
• Lead equipment de-installation, relocation, and re-installation projects

Documentation and Reporting

• Own the accuracy and completeness of service records and maintenance logs across the team
• Lead documentation improvement initiatives

Customer Support

• Act as the primary technical escalation contact at customer sites
• Lead technical status communication during major downtime events

Team Leadership

• Mentor FSEs on technical troubleshooting and customer engagement
• Provide on-the-job training and knowledge transfer
• Support onboarding of new field engineers

Required Technical Skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related technical field
• Good experience servicing semiconductor test equipment
• Demonstrated experience leading equipment installations and complex troubleshooting
• Understanding of semiconductor test processes
• Prior experience mentoring or training junior engineers
