Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finance Controller to lead our financial management and reporting functions. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of financial accounting, compliance, and analysis to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our financial data. Your expertise will drive strategic decision-making, optimize cash flow management, and uphold regulatory standards across diverse accounting frameworks including IFRS, GAAP, and non-profit and governmental accounting standards. Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of comprehensive financial reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee general ledger accounting processes, including balance sheet reconciliation, accounts receivable/payable management, and month-end closing activities.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and support strategic initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory compliance standards such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) across all financial processes.
• Supervise and develop the accounting team, providing mentorship in technical accounting areas such as cost accounting analysis, regulatory reporting, and international accounting standards.
• Coordinate external audits and facilitate audit readiness by maintaining accurate documentation of financial transactions.
• Implement improvements in accounting systems and spreadsheets to enhance data analysis capabilities using Excel data analysis techniques.
• Oversee budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to inform executive decision-making.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis for projects or programs aligned with non-profit or governmental funding requirements.
• Ensure timely completion of financial close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in senior finance or controlling roles within non-profit or governmental organizations is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
• Strong expertise in financial software systems such as ERP platforms or specialized accounting software; proficiency in Excel for data analysis is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to manage accounting teams effectively while fostering professional development.
• Deep understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, cost analysis, payroll processing, and treasury management.
• Experience with international accounting standards and complex financial concepts related to public sector or non-profit entities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear financial reports tailored for diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and forecasting activities.
