Senior Finance Executive

About the role

The Senior Finance Executive is responsible for the full set of accounts and day-to-day financial management of assigned companies, with a strong emphasis on cash flow management, vendor management and operational finance. This is a hands-on finance role requiring someone who goes beyond accounting and reporting. The successful candidate will actively manage cash requirements, understand upcoming financial commitments, engage with vendors, negotiate payment arrangements where necessary, and work closely with operational teams to understand the financial drivers of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day cash position of assigned companies
• Prepare and maintain weekly and rolling cash flow forecasts
• Monitor bank balances, expected receipts, upcoming payments and funding requirements
• Maintain clear visibility of upcoming financial commitments and potential cash shortfalls
• Prepare proposed payment schedules based on available cash, operational priorities and agreed payment terms
• Prioritize payments appropriately while ensuring critical business operations are not disrupted
• Compare actual cash movements against forecasts and investigate significant variances
• Identify potential cash flow issues early and escalate them together with recommended actions
• Prepare and maintain a full set of accounts
• Perform month-end closing and ensure accounts are completed accurately and within agreed timelines

About you

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably including responsibility for a full set of accounts
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end closing
• Practical experience in cash flow management, accounts payable and vendor management is strongly preferred
• Experience dealing directly with suppliers and negotiating payment arrangements would be an advantage
• Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with financial and operational data
• Experience with accounting systems such as SQL Accounting or similar systems would be an advantage
• Able to manage multiple companies, priorities and deadlines
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable communicating with vendors, operational teams and Management
