Senior Financial Advisor

Our client, SMI Financial Solutions is an established, family-owned business specialising in financial planning and mortgage broking. They provide personalised financial advice that helps families make confident decisions about their future, with a focus on long-term relationships and advice explained in plain language.

About the role
As Senior Financial Advisor, you'll be responsible for providing comprehensive, client-focused financial advice while helping establish the Mona Vale office as a successful local business. You will:

• Work directly with clients to understand their goals and circumstances, develop tailored strategies and deliver clear, practical advice across multiple areas
• Manage ongoing client relationship
• Help to grow the local client base and revenue, developing professional and referral networks
• As the team develops, there will also be an opportunity to mentor and support team members who are interested in building a career in financial advice.

Initially, you'll be expected to work at least 4 days per week in the office, with 5 days preferred while the team and local client base are being established. Once the office is established, there will be an opportunity to discuss a structured hybrid arrangement, with up to 2 days working from home per week. This is a genuinely face-to-face, client-focused role, so we're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships in person and being part of a growing office environment.

What you'll bring

• A Diploma or Degree in Financial Planning (FASEA certification if qualified prior to 2020)
• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Financial Advisor
• The relevant qualifications, licensing and authorisation required to provide financial advice
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, compliance and regulatory requirements
• Exceptional relationship management and communication skills
• The ability to explain complex financial concepts in clear, straightforward language
• Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness
• The drive to build client relationships, generate revenue and achieve agreed KPIs
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• A high level of professionalism, ethics and integrity
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a growing team
• Specialist accreditation or experience in aged care advice will be highly regarded.
