Our collaborative, client-first service approach, combined with our commitment to the rapid implementation of pragmatic solutions, has earned Trilogy an unparalleled reputation for delivering transformative results.

Trilogy Federal is looking for a Senior Financial System Analyst with knowledge and experience in federal financial management data from Momentum Financials to support current and future opportunities on high-priority projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role requires the ability to assist in analyzing financial and technical data to support reporting and decision-making aligned to VA leadership priorities. Define problems and develop plans and requirements in a subject area for complex systems. Coordinate and manage preparation of analyses, evaluations, and recommendations for proper implementation of programs and system specifications in IS architecture, automation, telecommunications, networking, communication protocols, software, email, M&S, or data storage and retrieval.

We are seeking candidates for a hybrid-location role in Arlington VA or for full-time remote work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and functional support for data transition activities, including migrating legacy financial data to a web-based financial system supporting federal financial, budget, and procurement management processes.
  • Analyze and document legacy financial systems and feeder systems, including data flows, system strengths and limitations, and general ledger posting logic to support an accurate and effective data conversion.
  • Identify and formulate organizational target state requirements from written materials and verbal interactions with stakeholders.
  • Brief leadership on mock conversion results and presented detailed requirements to key stakeholders.
  • Daily use of Agile software to track requirements, defects, configuration requirements, and team workload.
  • Serve as the General Ledger (GL) subject matter expert, leading tie-point and abnormal balance analyses, assessing complex GL posting logic for alignment with USSGL standards, and performing detailed reconciliations of financial data and reports between the legacy system and Momentum mock-converted outputs.
  • Support conversion activities by documenting payroll and non-payroll accruals to ensure budget resources are accurately aligned across systems. Validate conversion journal vouchers to confirm accurate posting and support complete beginning balances and ending trial balances.
  • Validate post-conversion financial reporting data to support GTAS Reporting, SF-133s, tie-point analysis, and DATA Act reporting.
  • Execute and validate mock and go-live conversion activities by reconciling converted financial data, performing testing against documented requirements, preparing validation and out-brief reports, and collaborating with stakeholders to confirm data is accurate and ready for use in future-state business processes.
  • Ability to analyze, resolve, configure, and reconcile Momentum Financial reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the following:

  • OMB Circular A 136 Financial Reporting, OMB bulletins, and circulars

  • U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL)

  • Treasury reports such as GTAS, DATA Act, and SF 133

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • BA/BS or equivalent and 12 years in the industry, eight of which directly relate to the required area of expertise.

  • Hands-on Technical Experience with Momentum Financials and implementation of Momentum in a Cloud Based environment.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with team members and stakeholders

  • Effectively communicate and interact with senior level management and clients

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Creative problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Ability to work independently or with little direction, when required.

  • Experience working within or supporting federal agencies or highly regulated environments.

  • Ability to interface well with SME’s, end-users, and client stakeholders across the organization.

  • Highly proficient in MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint

  • Knowledge of Agile principles and methodologies; experience working in an Agile environment.

  • Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL working with Oracle Databases

  • Experience with version control systems such as GitHub.

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VA or Federal experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Benefits (including but not limited to):

  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • Optional FSA
  • Paid parental leave
  • Safe Harbor 401(k) with employer contributions 100% vested from day 1
  • Paid time off and 11 paid holidays
  • No cost group term life/AD&D plan, and optional supplemental coverage
  • Pet insurance
  • Monthly phone and internet stipend
  • Tuition and training reimbursement

$125,000 - $140,000 a year

This range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands. In addition to salary, Trilogy offers robust benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance coverage, 401(k) match, paid holidays, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and a very supportive work/life balance.

To cut down on falsified applications and to avoid subjecting real candidates to screening by AI assistants, phone interviews at Trilogy require either a landline or a cellphone number backed by a physical SIM. We cannot conduct interviews with candidates who provide VOIP contact numbers (including Google Voice).
