Senior FinTech Algorithm Engineer

Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the successful candidate will join the core algorithm team at Deepstone Tech and be responsible for designing and implementing the critical algorithms and low-level systems that power our fintech products — spanning high-performance computing, optimization modeling, machine learning, and applied cryptography.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize core financial algorithms, including pricing models, risk measurement, and portfolio optimization
• Build large-scale optimization pipelines using numerical and convex optimization methods (linear/quadratic programming, interior-point methods, ADMM, etc.), ensuring numerical stability and solver performance
• Develop low-latency, high-throughput production-grade system components in Rust and C++, including profiling, memory, and concurrency tuning
• Research and deploy cryptographic techniques in financial applications, including secure multi-party computation (MPC), zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP), homomorphic encryption, and digital signature schemes
• Build and maintain machine learning and deep learning models (market signals, anomaly detection, predictive modeling), taking them from research through to production deployment
• Lead code reviews and technical design discussions, mentor junior engineers, and drive engineering standards and algorithm quality across the team
• Track state-of-the-art developments in academia and industry, and evaluate the applicability of new algorithms and technologies to our products

Requirements

We are seeking a high-calibre candidate with the following profile:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Cryptography, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's or PhD degree is an advantage
• Five years or more of experience in algorithm R&D or systems engineering is preferred; background in fintech, quantitative trading, or blockchain is a plus
• Proficiency in Rust and Modern C++, with hands-on experience in systems programming, concurrent design, and performance optimization
• Solid foundation in cryptography, including symmetric/asymmetric encryption, hash functions, and digital signatures; familiarity with ZKP, MPC, or homomorphic encryption is an advantage
• Deep understanding of numerical and convex optimization theory, with the ability to independently perform problem modeling, algorithm selection, and solver development (experience with tools such as OSQP, CVXPY, MOSEK, or Gurobi is a plus)
• End-to-end project experience in machine learning and deep learning, with proficiency in frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese; able to conduct research independently and deliver high-quality results under pressure
• Rigorous engineering discipline, strong team spirit, and a passion for continuous learning
