Senior Fire Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Senior Fire Engineer to lead, manage, and deliver fire protection engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, implementation, and inspection of fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with applicable South African legislation, building regulations, and relevant fire safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and oversee fire protection systems, including fire detection, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, fire suppression systems, and other fire safety installations.
• Conduct fire risk assessments, fire safety audits, and technical evaluations.
• Prepare and review fire engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable South African National Standards (SANS), building regulations, fire safety legislation, and relevant industry requirements.
• Manage fire engineering projects from initial concept and design through to installation, commissioning, and final handover.
• Conduct site j inspections, assess installations, and ensure that work meets approved designs and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and project teams.
• Liaise with clients, architects, quantity surveyors, contractors, local authorities, and other engineering professionals.
• Identify technical challenges and develop practical, cost-effective fire safety solutions.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, equipment specifications, and technical proposals.
• Assist with tender documentation, cost estimates, project proposals, and technical presentations.
• Investigate fire safety deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure all technical documentation is completed and submitted on time.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month
