Senior Floor Layer

Flooring Preparation, Installation & Quality

• Move furniture as required and return to room upon job completion
• Uplift any existing flooring and dispose of in waste bin at carpet warehouse (unless otherwise advised)
• Install a wide range of flooring including carpet, vinyl, LVT, laminate, timber as detailed in plan and as per quotation
• Prepare subfloors including grinding, leveling, moisture testing, and surface preparation.
• Measure, cut, fit, and finish flooring to a high standard.
• Read and interpret plans, measurements, and job specifications.
• Ensure all work meets manufacturer requirements and industry best practice.
• Inspect completed work and resolve any issues or defects.
• Maintain communication with Flooring Manager when jobs are complete or there are any changes to expected timeframes.

Site Leadership

• Lead flooring installations on site and coordinate workflow.
• Supervise and support junior floor layers and apprentices.
• Allocate tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and safely.
• Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and feedback.
• Ensure materials and tools are used correctly and safely.

Customer Service

• Represent the business professionally at all customer sites.
• Communicate clearly with customers about the work being done.
• Resolve minor issues on site and escalate larger concerns when needed.
• Maintain a tidy, respectful work environment in customers’ homes or businesses.

Tools, Equipment & Vehicles

• Use and maintain all flooring tools and equipment correctly.
• Ensure company vehicles are kept clean, safe, and road-ready.
• Load and unload materials safely.
