Senior Flooring Estimator

Job Description

SCS Multifamily is looking for an experienced Flooring Estimator who can own the estimating process from start to finish. Previous flooring estimating experience is required. Multifamily experience is preferred.

We need someone who takes responsibility for the complete scope, down to the underlayments, adhesives, trims, transitions and every other component required to deliver the job. Accuracy, attention to detail and follow-through are essential.

What you’ll own:

• Review plans, specifications, finish schedules and addenda to identify the complete flooring scope
• Perform accurate takeoffs for flooring and all required accessories and installation materials
• Account for floor preparation, installation labor, waste, freight and project-specific requirements
• Obtain and verify supplier and subcontractor pricing, resolve scope questions and catch missing items before the bid goes out
• Prepare complete estimates with clear inclusions, exclusions, assumptions and alternates
• Track revisions and incorporate changes to quantities, scope and pricing
• Provide an organized handoff to the project team so purchasing and installation have the information they need

What we’re looking for:

• Proven flooring estimating experience; this is not an entry-level estimating position
• Strong knowledge of flooring materials, installation methods and supporting components
• The ability to independently manage an estimate from initial plan review through final handoff
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization and accountability
• Clear communication and a willingness to identify and resolve problems early
• Multifamily estimating experience preferred
