Senior Scientist – Formulation & Drug Product Development

We are supporting an established pharmaceutical organisation with the appointment of a Scientist/Senior Scientist within its formulation and drug product development function.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, execute and evaluate formulation development studies.
• Develop and optimise formulations for protein-based products.
• Assess formulation robustness, stability and product performance.
• Conduct laboratory-scale development and process studies.
• Investigate product behaviour during processing, filtration and handling.
• Support compatibility assessments involving packaging and delivery systems.
• Provide technical input into externally supported development activities.
• Review experimental data and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Work closely with analytical and other development functions.
• Support relevant laboratory equipment activities.
• Prepare accurate technical documentation in accordance with applicable quality standards.

Requirements:

• PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Bioprocess Engineering or a related discipline, or a relevant Master's degree with industry experience.
• Strong experience in biopharmaceutical formulation and/or drug product development.
• Hands-on experience with liquid protein formulations.
• Knowledge of stability, degradation and formulation optimisation.
• Experience with experimental design/DoE; knowledge of relevant software is advantageous.
• Strong scientific, analytical and collaborative approach.
• Fluent English required; German is advantageous.
