Senior FP&A Analyst

Why this role is different

Most senior FP&A jobs in Bangkok are single-country and heavily process-driven — you maintain a model somebody else built and file a pack somebody else designed.

This one is neither. You will own the numbers for two markets, Thailand and Vietnam, inside the regional arm of a European industrial group. You report to the Finance Manager, you sit close to commercial and operations leadership, and there is no layer of analysts between you and the business.

The systems landscape is worth being upfront about: a local ERP, several separate data sources, and a Group reporting platform sitting above it all. There is no finished dashboard waiting for you. If you would rather build the reporting environment than inherit one, this is an unusual amount of white space for a role at this level — and a visible one, because Group sees the output every month.

What you will own

Planning & forecasting

• The annual budget, rolling forecast and long-range plan for your assigned business units across both markets
• The Excel models underpinning scenario work and long-term planning
• Variance analysis that ends in a recommendation, not just a number

Business performance & partnering

• Interrogating sales, margin, pricing and operating cost performance for a trading and distribution business
• Surfacing the drivers, risks and opportunities management should be acting on
• Acting as the finance counterpart to commercial and operations teams on pricing and cost decisions
• Giving local management in both countries insight they can use, in language they understand

Group reporting & month-end

• Delivering the monthly reporting pack to Group on time and fully reconciled
• Bridging local statutory accounts (Thai NPAEs) to Group and IFRS reporting standards
• Partnering the Thailand and Vietnam accounting teams through close — validating accruals, provisions and adjustments before results go out, and challenging entries that do not stand up
• Owning financial validation for the Vietnam entity, including visibility over cash in and out

Data, systems & control

• Extracting, reconciling and reasoning over data from a non-integrated ERP and multiple other sources
• Building the Excel tooling, dashboards and automation that make next month faster than this one
• Strengthening internal control and documentation around financial reporting
• Supporting internal and external audit, including control testing and issue resolution

What you will bring

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
• 5+ years in FP&A or a broad finance role, at a level where the numbers stopped with you
• Experience in trading, distribution or a multinational environment
• Real Group reporting and reconciliation exposure — you understand the gap between local GAAP and Group policy, and how to bridge it
• A background where the systems did not do the work for you: mid-sized business, limited integration, manual reconciliation
• Advanced Excel, non-negotiable — complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, financial modelling across large datasets. Power BI is a plus
• Working knowledge of a mainstream accounting package (SAP, Oracle or equivalent)
• Solid business English and the comfort to work across two countries and two cultures
• Precision, and a healthy scepticism about numbers you did not build yourself
