About the job:

What You'll get to do:
Development & Delivery

• Build high-quality, scalable, maintainable frontend solutions using modern JavaScript frameworks and tooling

• Drive development with strong attention to performance, edge cases, resilience, and long-term maintainability

• Collaborate closely with Site Owners, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams to ensure successful delivery

Code Quality & Engineering Excellence

• Maintain high engineering standards across the codebase

• Perform deep and meaningful code reviews focused on architecture, scalability, maintainability, security, and performance

• Drive refactoring initiatives and technical debt reduction with strong consideration for business impact and platform stability

• Ensure strong documentation practices for systems, architecture, and development workflows

Performance Engineering

• Own Core Web Vitals and runtime performance across your area of the platform

• Profile, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks using Lighthouse, browser DevTools, and production monitoring tools

• Build performance-conscious systems by default, not as a retrofit

Debugging & Incident Ownership

• Take ownership of complex production issues -- root cause, fix, and prevention

• Comfortable debugging across the full frontend stack, including network, rendering, and runtime issues

Nice to have

Architecture & System Design

• Design and implement scalable frontend architectures across a multi-project platform

• Identify structural issues early and propose concrete, well-scoped solutions

Build Tooling & CI/CD

• Work confidently with modern frontend build tooling (Vite, etc.) and understand how it affects output, performance, and developer experience

• Understand CI/CD pipelines well enough to reason about and improve the frontend's place in them

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in frontend development

• Expert-level JavaScript, HTML, and CSS -- you understand the platform, not just the framework.

• Proven experience in creating fast performing interfaces using JS frameworks and libraries such as (but not limited to): ReactJS / AngularJS / VueJS / Stencil.js

• Proven experience with REST web services and/or web APIs

• Strong performance engineering skills -- CWV, Lighthouse, profiling, production monitoring

• Comfortable taking on ambiguous, high-complexity problems independently

• Precise technical communicator in code reviews and documentation
