Senior Frontend Engineer – TypeScript / React

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join a technology team working on modern, scalable web applications.

The successful candidate will have strong commercial experience with TypeScript and React and will play an important role in designing and developing high-quality user interfaces for a modern software platform.

You will work closely with backend engineers, product managers, UX/UI specialists and other technical teams within an Agile environment.

The Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for building responsive, scalable and maintainable web applications using TypeScript and React .

You will contribute to technical decisions, frontend architecture and the development of new features, while helping to maintain high standards around performance, accessibility, testing and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern web applications using TypeScript and React
• Build reusable and maintainable frontend components
• Work closely with UX/UI teams to deliver high-quality user experiences
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and backend services
• Contribute to frontend architecture and technical design decisions
• Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
• Improve application performance and scalability
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Develop automated frontend tests
• Work with Git and modern CI/CD development workflows
• Troubleshoot and resolve frontend issues
• Collaborate with backend, DevOps and product teams in an Agile/Scrum environment

Essential Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

• Strong commercial experience with TypeScript
• Excellent hands-on experience with React
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript
• Good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience building production-quality web applications
• Experience integrating REST APIs
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows
• Understanding of frontend architecture and component-based development
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable Experience

Experience with the following would be advantageous:

• Next.js
• Node.js
• React Query / TanStack Query
• Redux or other state management solutions
• Jest
• Cypress or Playwright
• Webpack / Vite
• Docker
• CI/CD
• AWS or Azure
• Design systems
• Accessibility / WCAG
• Microfrontend architecture

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Frontend Engineer who enjoys building modern web applications and can take ownership of frontend development from technical design through to delivery.

You should be comfortable working in a collaborative Agile environment and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience working within fintech, financial services, banking or other regulated industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
