Senior Frontend Developer (React / Next.js) · Help build a new Tech Hub in Lisbon 🚀

At Shakers we’re partnering with a global tech consultancy that is launching a new international Tech Hub in Lisbon, and we’re looking for a Senior Frontend Developer with solid React/Next.js experience to help shape it from day one. Freelance project, hybrid in Lisbon, full time, with real ownership of the web architecture.

The challenge

The hub is starting up, which means the foundations are still being laid: architecture, workflows, documentation and standards. You’ll build and maintain high-quality, scalable and performant web applications, and help set the bar for how the team works.

We’re looking for a hands-on senior who enjoys troubleshooting, optimising and documenting as much as coding, and who is comfortable working closely with a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain web applications with ReactJS and NextJS.

Implement responsive interfaces with HTML, CSS, TypeScript and JavaScript.

Design and implement scalable web architecture and reusable artifacts.

Integrate with REST APIs and work with NodeJS and package managers.

Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub workflows and actions.

Manage version control with Git following good branching practices.

Create and maintain technical documentation in Confluence.

Troubleshoot and optimise web performance and user experience.

Requirements

5+ years of experience with modern frontend technologies.

Strong hands-on experience with ReactJS and NextJS.

Solid TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.

Experience with REST APIs, NodeJS and package managers.

CI/CD experience with GitHub workflows and actions, and Git.

Experience writing technical documentation (Confluence or similar).

English at least B2.

Based in or near Lisbon, available 2 days a week in the office.
