About the Role

Branda is building V2 of its integrated branding ecosystem, connecting multiple branding products and services through one seamless digital experience.

We seek an exceptional Senior Frontend Engineer with proven expertise in Next.js, eCommerce development, technical SEO, and high-performance web applications.

You must have independently delivered significant frontend functionality for at least one live Next.js eCommerce platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Build fast, responsive, scalable, and visually precise frontend experiences using Next.js.
• Develop eCommerce interfaces, including product listings, search, filtering, cart, checkout, and customer accounts.
• Implement advanced technical SEO, structured data, and search-engine-friendly rendering.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs, authentication, and payment services.
• Optimise Core Web Vitals, accessibility, mobile usability, and page performance.
• Write maintainable, reusable, well-tested code and collaborate with the Branda V2 product and engineering teams.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience, including substantial production Next.js experience.
• Must have worked on at least one live eCommerce website built with Next.js, with verifiable personal contributions.
• Advanced proficiency in Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong understanding of SSR, SSG, ISR, Server Components, caching, and API integration.
• Proven technical SEO skills: metadata, canonical URLs, structured data, sitemaps, robots directives, and crawlability.
• Strong experience with responsive UI, state management, performance optimisation, Git, and production deployment.
• Ability to independently solve complex problems and deliver production-ready features.

Added Advantages: Tailwind CSS, react, automated testing, CI/CD, analytics, headless commerce, and large product catalogues.

Task 1 – Production Experience

Provide links to a maximum of TWO live Next.js eCommerce websites you worked on.

For each, briefly state:

• Your exact role, features developed, and Next.js version.
• How you handled rendering, performance, and technical SEO.
• One significant technical challenge you solved and the measurable outcome, where available.

Task 2 – Technical Assessment

Scenario: Branda V2 is launching an eCommerce storefront with 50,000 products, dynamic categories, search, filtering, product pages, and checkout.

Answer the following:

• How would you structure the Next.js frontend for speed, scalability, and maintainability?
• How would you implement technical SEO for product/category pages, including canonical URLs, structured data, and indexation controls?
• How would you prevent slow product pages, layout shifts, excessive JavaScript, and unnecessary API requests?
• How would you manage cart state, checkout, authentication, loading states, and API failures?

Submission: Maximum 2 pages (PDF), excluding supporting links.

Task 3 – Proof of Expertise

Submit one relevant GitHub repository, permitted code sample, or technical walkthrough demonstrating your own Next.js engineering work.

Shortlisted candidates will complete a live technical assessment.
