Senior Frontend Software Engineer

Senior Frontend Engineer

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (on-site)

$170,000 - $200,000 base

Fruition Group is exclusively partnering with a growing technology company that protects people and property to find their first dedicated Senior Frontend Engineer. Customers use a browser-based product to watch and act on live camera feeds, and until now an external team has built and run it. The company is now moving that work inside, and they need one strong engineer to take it on.

You’d be the person who decides how the product gets built from here: the structure of the code, the quality bar, and the habits a second engineer will later inherit. If you like having real ownership over something customers rely on every day, this is a rare opening.

What You’ll Do

• Become the engineer responsible for the live video web application, from day-to-day development through release and upkeep.
• Learn everything the outside design and UX contributors know about the product, and capture it so nothing is lost in the transition.
• Work side by side with the streaming and backend engineers so video gets from camera to screen quickly and reliably.
• Define how the team approaches automated testing, inclusive design, and speed from the very start.
• Leave the code and documentation in good shape for a future teammate to join and contribute fast.

What Our Client Is Looking For

• Around seven or more years building production web front ends.
• Practical experience with live streaming in the browser, whether through WebRTC or custom video players.
• Strong command of a current JavaScript framework, ideally React.
• A habit of building interfaces that are accessible and quick, not just good-looking.
• Comfort being the single accountable engineer for a product customers use daily.
• Helpful extras: experience with monitoring or camera-based products, shared component libraries, or taking over and cleaning up work started by an outside team.
