About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in the MERN stack and AWS for a 6-month contract opportunity in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will design, build, test, and maintain robust, high-performance web applications driving complex risk consulting and enterprise financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, code, test, and debug high-volume enterprise applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, and SQL.
• Architect and optimize backend services, APIs, and complex SQL database queries.
• Deploy, manage, and scale cloud applications on AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
• Manage source code and collaborative development using Git workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD best practices.
• Provide technical leadership, debug critical production issues, and promote software development best practices including security and clean documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 8 to 10 years of professional full-stack web development experience.
• Core proficiency in the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
• Strong expertise in SQL database architecture and complex query optimization.
• Proven understanding of Git workflows, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Must be local or within daily commuting distance to Chicago, IL (60606) for a hybrid setup.

Preferred / Bonus Skills:

• Prior experience or domain knowledge in Insurance, Claims, or Risk Consulting systems is a huge plus.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, or AI-driven coding tools.
